Insurance providers are required to take you out of the plan after one year if you have a three year satisfactory driving record. Once you are allowed out of the assigned risk pool and are able to get regular coverage your premiums should go down substantially.
Rhode Island Joint Reinsurance Association (RIJRA) also known as the Rhode Island FAIR Plan, purpose is to provide basic property insurance on eligible property for applicants who have been unable to gain insurance through the voluntary market.
The policies cover homeowners, dwelling fire and commercial property programs. Applicants must meet our reasonable underwriting standards, however coverage is provided without consideration of environmental conditions associated with the property's location.
